Listen to Obituary

Wayne Alan Goodwin, age 77, passed away on September 3, 2025, at Highland Hospital after a short illness. Wayne is survived by his wife, Marlene (née Lubba) Goodwin and his step-children Kevin (Sandy) Klossner of Penfield and Marcia (Stephen) Siegel of Flemington, NJ. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren: Naomi (Zach) Self, Josiah Klossner, Seth Klossner, Simone (James Phillips) Siegel and Jarrod Siegel. He is also survived by his brother Doug Goodwin of Batavia.

Wayne is the son of the late Earl Goodwin and Marion Goodwin and is predeceased by brothers Paul and David and stepson, Mark Klossner.

Wayne was born September 21, 1947 and was a graduate of Batavia High School. He served in the Vietnam War during the years 1968-1969 as a helicopter mechanic. After serving in the war, he worked at Whiting Roll-Up Door Company in Akron where he met Marlene. Together, they enjoyed cruisin’ around in their customized 1970s Dodge van that Wayne modified himself.

In 1984, they moved to Lakeland, FL, where he worked at Kidron Corporation as a welder. He enjoyed boating and fishing and spending time with Marlene’s brother and sister-in-law and other friends and family.

In 1999, they moved to Henrietta to enjoy spending more time with their extended families and especially their grandchildren. In 2002, Wayne acquired a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible and spent many years cruising it to car shows across Western New York.

Wayne enjoyed the simple things in life - spending time with his family, camping with his wife and grandchildren, meeting friends at the local diner for breakfast, going out for ice cream, and of course, going to car shows in the summer months with his ‘71 Olds.

Wayne will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
