Timothy James Groman

February 18, 1962 – April 24, 2026

Timothy J. Groman, 64, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026, with his loving sister Linda, son Steven, and former spouse and close friend Sharon by his side.

He is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary Groman, and his brother, Glenn.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son Steven (Karlene); his sister Linda; his brother Don (Dora); sister-in-law Diane; and step-daughter Doreen (Alphonso). He also leaves behind long-time friends Lisa, Bob K, Gloria, and Dani, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Tim worked in many different specialties over his life, always taking pride in his work. Most recently he enjoyed seven years as a ride share driver, carrying thousands of people safely to their destinations while making many friends in the process. Tim also found great joy in traveling the world and making friends wherever he went, but the place that held the greatest space in his heart is Sandy Pond, where he and his family enjoyed many summers at "camp" throughout his entire lifetime.

Therefore, a Celebration of Life is planned for him on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the home of his cousin Stan Groman at 25 Chipman Lane, Sandy Creek, NY, from Noon to 4:00 p.m.

We want to especially thank the University of Rochester Hospice care staff. They provided us with the most compassionate and loving guidance as Tim’s wishes were followed while he entered palliative care.
