Samantha (Sammi) Jean Ulmer Feb 6, 2001 – May 18, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Samantha Jean Ulmer, age 24, on May 18, 2025.
Sammi was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her—kind, compassionate, and full of life. She was predeceased by her father Randy J. Ulmer; grandparents Jim and June Ulmer and Richard Buxton; and uncles Rick Lewis and David Ulmer.
She is survived by her loving mother Jean Winton; siblings Ryan Ulmer, Tara Ulmer and Dustin Ulmer; grandparents Douglas Winton and Marilyn Buxton; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
Sam had the purest of spirits and the biggest heart. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen, valued, and loved—beautiful both inside and out. Her infectious smile and gentle presence brought joy wherever she went. Squirrel
“Shammi” was also a force to be reckoned with in sports. A natural athlete, she played softball, soccer, and basketball throughout high school, where her enthusiasm for competition and sportsmanship shone. Most recently, she discovered a love for kickball, bringing the same energy, team spirit, and fierce determination that made her such a joy to play with—and impossible not to root for.
She was especially passionate about helping others, dedicating herself to service work in Peru and in the Bateyes of the Dominican Republic. “Sam Sam” found deep fulfillment in working with children with special needs. Her compassion and warmth touched countless lives across the globe. Even in death, being an organ donor, she will be helping more than a dozen people with her gifts. Squirrel
She was a natural born leader and led her teams by example by always being willing to jump in and do the hard work herself. Even if it meant going and getting carts in the middle of a hail storm because she was worried that one might hit someone’s car. She thought of her coworkers as family and loved them all very much.
Sammi J loved connecting with others, building lasting friendships, and making everyone around her feel welcome. Samantha brought people together and left a lasting impact on every community she was part of.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was truly one of a kind—genuine, selfless, and unforgettable.
A celebration of Sammi’s life will be held on Friday May 30th at 5:00 with a reception following at Henrietta United Church of Christ 1400 Lehigh Station Rd. Henrietta NY.
