Ronald Michael Golden

Ronald Michael Golden of Rochester, NY went to his eternal home on 8/22/25 at the age of 88 less than two weeks after a cancer diagnosis. Ron was born on 3/19/37 to Eleanor and Michael Golden in Cleveland, Ohio where he grew up both in Cleveland and in Willowick. He served for 5 years in the US Army and Army Reserves. Ron married Beverly Berndt in 1961 and they raised their family in Mentor, OH. He began his career as a tool and dye apprentice; through his own hard work he became an accomplished engineer. He worked at different companies in mechanical, industrial and aerospace fields. Ron was extremely intelligent and could figure out a solution to any problem. He was also very handy and could fix anything. His family was grateful for his construction, plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills! Ron also tended his large garden and flower beds for his wife of 63 years. He loved to travel with his family and his faith was an important part of his life. In 2013 he and Bev moved to Rochester, NY to be closer to family. They enjoyed exploring wineries and waterfalls in the Finger Lakes region.

Ron is predeceased by his brother Ray. He is survived by his wife Bev, daughter Kim (Steve) Valone, son Bill (Karen), grandchildren Peter Valone, Tom (Abby) Valone, Mikayla (Jon) Hernandez, Nathan (Hannah) Golden, and his great-granddaughter Genevieve Valone.

A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held on 9/13/25 at 2pm in the chapel at St. Ann’s Community at Cherry Ridge, 900 Cherry Ridge Blvd., Webster, NY 14580. (It’s in the building straight ahead as you drive in.) A reception will immediately follow the service. Burial will be on the nature trail at White Haven Memorial Park at the family’s convenience.
