Robert Roland Thompson
Rochester, NY – March 15, 2026, at age 87.
Robert is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Nancy Himes Thompson, and sisters-in-law Beverly Huber and Patricia Preston. He is survived by his loving children; son David, daughter-in-law Maureen Ryan and grandson Wyatt; daughter Debra DeCarlo, son-in-law Robert and granddaughter Lindsay. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law; Elaine (Bob) Lissow, Diane (Dale) Rowe and Barbara (David) Miroff, brothers-in-law Edward Huber and Eugene (Patty) Preston and many nieces and nephews.
Robert proudly served his country during the Bay of Pigs Conflict and had a long career with Eastman Kodak as a Supervisor in the Solvent Coating Department.
With his wife at his side, Robert took great pleasure in restoring and renovating a late 19th century home in Churchville, NY as well as collecting antiques. Additionally, he loved camping and visiting historical sites. Robert also enjoyed a life-long love of listening to music, and being with family and friends. He was an exemplary father and husband who deeply cared for his family and those he encountered throughout his life.
Though by far Robert’s greatest joy in life was his family, which he prized over everything else, especially his grandchildren Wyatt and Lindsay.
His boisterous laughter and larger-than-life presence will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
A private service and interment to be held at the convenience of the family.
