Richard (Rich) J. Lampman, age 59, passed away on January 11, 2026, in Rochester, New York.

Rich was born to John Lampman (deceased) and Sharon (Fox) Lampman, and he lived his life with creativity, laughter, and a whole lot of heart. He was a devoted son, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend

A sign maker by trade, Rich worked in hand painting, vinyl graphics, and wood signs. He loved creating and was always dreaming up new ideas—usually better ones than everyone else’s. Making things with his hands was more than a job; it was who he was, taking pride in his craft and the work he left behind.

Rich loved his sports. He was a loyal Buffalo Sabres fan and those who love him are hoping they make it to the playoffs this year—because Rich would absolutely love that. He was also a huge NASCAR fan, with Jeff Gordon (#24) always being number one. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and yes… at one point in his life, he was even a Miami Dolphins fan (lol).

But above all else, his favorite role was being “Papa.” His grandson was his greatest joy, and nothing made Rich happier than spending time with him. Becoming Papa changed him in the very best way.

Rich had a kind, gentle, loving soul and a sense of humor that could light up any room. He loved fiercely, had a different laugh for every situation, and he was genuinely FUNNY. If you knew Rich, you laughed with him—and you felt loved by him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gina L. Lampman; his children, Amanda Bonura, Stephanie Lampman, and Katie (Jeremy) Nagle; his stepchildren, Eden (Christian) DeWolf, Elizabeth DeWolf, and Jack DeWolf; his cherished grandson, Kayce Nagle; his sister, Sue (Paul) Holmes; his brother, Mark (Connie) Lampman; several nieces; and many other loving family members and wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 12th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Back To My Place, 3024 E. Henrietta Road, Henrietta, NY 14467.
