Raymond "Papa" Roger Peters was born on June 18, 1940, in Chili, NY, where he was raised, and had lived in Spencerport, NY, for the past 45 years. He attended Edison Technology High School in Rochester, NY. He worked at Wegmans as a produce manager before owning his own Pepperidge Farm bread route.
Ray was an alumnus of the Rochester Crusaders Drum Corps and loved attending drum corps competitions throughout the years. He had a deep love for music-especially jazz-and was a skilled woodworking craftsman. He and his wife Bonnie enjoyed traveling to various tropical islands. He treasured time spent outdoors with his family and was proudly known by his children and grandchildren as the best homemade pizza chef of all time.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bonnie Peters, and his sister, Norma Charroux. He is survived by his daughters, Lori Albright and Lisa Franchella (Steven), and his sons, Timothy Peters and Thomas Peters (Alicia).
Raymond's grandchildren include David Bowman, Sarah Bowman, Emilio Franchella, Eloy Franchella, Samantha Peters. Nikki Peters, and Carly Peters, and step-grandchildren Sydney Spaulding and Aaron Spaulding. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Levi Peters, Bailey Peters, Mason Peters. Phoenix Franchella, and Atlas Franchella. Raymond "Papa" Roger Peters passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at the age of 85. There are currently no formal plans for a funeral service. Ray's family will be holding a private celebration of life in his honor.
