Born on July 15, 1945, in Rochester, NY, Mike lived a full and adventurous life defined by his passion for the outdoors and his unmistakable joy for life's simple pleasures. Mike was pre-deceased by his parents Myron and Violet Fahy and his sister Sharon Mattice. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Carol Fahy; his daughters Michelle (Ed) O’hara, Patti Fahy (Kevin Dunn), Jill Neri-Fahy and Kelly Theis; and his step children Tracy (Ken) Merkel, Kelly Wilkins, Alan (Kim) Wilkins. He was a grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren along with loving family and friends.
Mike was a proud US Navy veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman that found peace in hunting and fishing, and in his younger years discovered a love for golf that stayed with him for decades. He was a long time member at Caledonia Country Club. Mike cherished the time he spent in the 1000 Islands boating and camping with family and friends and the countless memories they made there.
Professionally Mike worked as a Quality Control Inspector at GRS/Alstom Corporation for 27 years. After retiring, Mike and Carol embraced the snow-bird lifestyle, spending more than 20+ years in Myrtle Beach. There, he continued to enjoy golf and treasured the camaraderie of playing cards with Steve Dame and Fred Petroske. Mike also loved cruise vacations to the Caribbean, time spent at casinos, time spent with his daughters on Lake Ontario and cheering on his step children and step grandchildren in their many sporting adventures. Mike cherished the friendships he built over a lifetime, especially those with Daniel Steinfeldt, Charles Fantanza, Bobby Vitale and David Lozipone. Mike's presence will be deeply missed, but his stories, laughter and spirit will live in all that knew him.
