Maura Patricia (Catlin) Phillips Le Roy, New York • 1956–2026
Maura Patricia (Catlin) Phillips, of Le Roy, New York, peacefully passed away on January 17, 2026. Born in 1956 in Rochester, NY, Maura built a life defined by devotion—to her family and friends, to animals, and to the New York Yankees.
Maura worked as a veterinary technician, where her calm presence and skilled hands comforted both pets and their people. She later launched her own pet-sitting and caregiving business, extending her compassion into countless homes and becoming a trusted member of the community.
She was predeceased by her parents, James F. Catlin and Maureen P. Catlin.
Maura is survived by her sons, Charles Catlin (Christina) and Patrick Catlin; her siblings, Patrick (Lynn) Catlin, Kyle Catlin, Timothy (Kim) Catlin, and Siobhán (John) Vandervoort; her grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Maura was sustained by a strong, dedicated circle of friends. Wendy Mancuso, her “guardian angel,” walked with her through her final journey. She was also blessed with steadfast friends—Karen, Dianne, Hazel, Monica, Mary, and Patti—who stood by her with care and loyalty.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jones and his team for their attentive and compassionate care, as well as to Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make memorial contributions in Maura’s honor may do so to Lollypop Farm or Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home in Perry, NY.
