Sodus: Marlene J. Reeves passed away on August 9,2026 at Rochester General Hospital. She had twice survived battles with cancer. Cancer came a third time and took her home to be with her Lord.

Marlene is survived by her wife, Cindy S. Reed; Her daughter and son-in-law Stacey and Paul Boyd. Her Grandchildren Samantha Boyd-McConnell and husband Logan, and Paul Boyd, Jr.

Marlene is also survived by her sister Gale Morehouse; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved Boston Terrier Jerry Lee.

She had many longtime friends, as well as her Church Family at First Baptist Church in Macedon.

Marlene was predeceased by her husband, Richard Reeves.

For many years, Marlene and Dick ran pet stores in Ontario and Union Hill, NY. The last pet store Dick’s Tropical Fish and Critters on Route 104 was with their daughter, Stacey Boyd. Marlene was known as the “Fish Lady”. Many a times people would walk up to her and say,” I know you,” You’re the Fish Lady from the pet store.”

Marlene also worked as assistant transportation manager for CDS in Fairport. Marlene delivered Penny Savers in Wayne County with Cindy.

She loved fishing and was a certified scuba driver.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Patel and staff at Lipson Cancer and Rochester General Hospital doctors and nurses for their kindness to Marlene and our family.

A Celebration of Life for Marlene Reeves will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Macedon NY, 58 Main Street (Route 31). There will be a reception in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
