April 17, 2025 at age 85. María Teresa is predeceased by her husband Berthold, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her son Henning (Teonja) Jung, daughter Yasmin (Chris Butler) Jung, and grandchildren Ollie, Olivia, Alexander, Lukas, and Sienna, as well as many nieces and nephews.
María Teresa and her siblings were born and raised in Aguilares, Tucumán Province, Argentina. She studied to be a teacher, and worked at the telephone company in Buenos Aires before getting married. Once married, she and her husband lived in many places around the world, including Honduras and Germany, before settling down in Baltimore. She received an Associate's Degree from Essex Community College, and was proud to be a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. María Teresa had a talent for languages, and enjoyed being a tutor to her many students over the years. She continued to teach and study languages even after retiring.
A memorial service will be held for María Teresa at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Bel Air, MD on May 10th, 11 a.m. Private family burial to follow.
