It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Leone. Linda was predeceased by her husband Joe, the love of her life in 1992 and by her eldest daughter Joy in 2015, as well as grandson Joseph in 1997. She was also predeceased by her sister Barbara, sister Karen, sister Helene, brother Tom, and her sister-in-law Gail. Linda is survived by many loved ones including her daughter Ann and son-in-law Alex, her wonderful grandson John, loving daughter Tracy, Tracy's partner Terry Duerr who she loved very much, and son Paul. Linda is also survived by her brother Gary(Nancy), sister Wallis, with whom she shared many laughs over cups of coffee, her brother James, and sister-in-law Suzanne. Linda's brother Jim was a devoted brother who visited her regularly throughout her life and especially since she was at St. Ann's Nursing Home where she resided for over two years until her death. Jim and Lin shared stories of their youth, had meals together, and spent time together!
Linda proudly came from a large family! She was raised primarily by her mother Evelyn and had seven siblings. She was the sixth child of Evelyn and Knute Korneliusen and was always very grateful to have the love and companionship of her brothers and sisters. Lin and her mother shared a deep bond that only grew stronger with the passage of time. Because she came from such a large family, she had many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved and with whom she shared many happy occasions. She enjoyed family get-togethers and loved to play board games, dominoes, and Boggle with anyone who stopped by to visit. She loved to read novels and she would crochet blankets and often present them as gifts to people she loved.
Linda lived in Irondequoit for most of her life. She worked at Star Market in the bakery and then at Casey's Hallmark for many years before retiring. One of Lin's greatest pleasures was the birth of her grandson John! She expressed often her love of seeing and spending time with him and of the endless games of Sorry that they played as he grew up. She idolized him and thought the world of him! Lin spent time living in Florida with Tracy and Terry where she was able to enjoy the sunshine and special times with the two of them, make lasting friendships with the neighbors Jeff and Sue, and creating lasting memories that she spoke of often.
Lin spent her final years at St. Ann's Home in Irondequoit. Our family wishes to thank the staff on the second floor for the care she received! We especially wish to recognize the efforts of Felicia, Chloe, Rene, and the best aide in the world, Krystal! We truly appreciate the care she received.
