Linda Hamilton

Linda Hamilton, 65, of Hamlin, New York, passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, July 25, surrounded by the love of her family and dear friends.

Born on June 3, 1961, Linda lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering desire to help others. She was the kind of person who never met a stranger. Whether you had known her for years or only minutes, people naturally found themselves opening up to her. She had a way of making everyone feel heard, valued, and cared for, and somehow always seemed to have the right advice when it was needed most.

Linda dedicated her career to the Greece Central School District, where she worked with special education students who needed extra patience, care, and encouragement. Teaching wasn't simply her profession, it was her calling. She loved her students, her coworkers, and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children every day.

Outside of work, Linda found joy in the simple things. She loved tending to her garden, making sure every flower bed looked just right, and watching the birds that faithfully visited her feeders. She could spend hours outside enjoying nature, and anyone who knew her knew that her garden wasn't just a hobby, it was a labor of love.

More than anything, Linda loved people. She was happiest when she was helping someone else, whether they asked for it or not. She was endlessly giving, fiercely loyal, and always put others before herself. She had a gift for making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and loved.

Linda is survived by her former husband, Alfred Hamilton; her children, Andrew Hamilton, Leigh Hamilton, Jasmine Hamilton, and Tommy Lu; her daughter-in-law, Angela Hamilton; her brothers, Robert King and Steven King; neice Ashley Solomianko, dog, Pepper, and her lifelong best friend, Noreen Flanagan, along with many extended family members, friends, former students, and colleagues whose lives were forever changed by knowing her. Predeceased by her Mother and Father Bob and Mary King, as well as her Puppa, King.

To say Linda will be missed hardly seems enough. She was the best mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend anyone could hope for. The world feels a little quieter without her, but it is undoubtedly a better place because she was here.

In true Linda fashion, she'd probably want everyone to skip the fuss, enjoy the flowers, feed the birds, and take a few extra minutes to help someone who needs it.

At this time, there will be no calling hours or funeral service as the family navigates this incredibly difficult loss. A celebration of Linda's life will be held next summer. Details will be shared here as they become available.
