August 8, 1937 — July 19, 2025

Fairport

Beloved Laura, born in Buffalo, daughter of R.Gerald & Mildred B. Mudd. She was a 1955 Mt. Mercy Academy graduate. Laura married the boy next door, Edwin John. They lived in Monterey, CA, Pittsford, Ithaca, and Fairport, NY during their life together.

Throughout her career in the dental field, she was a hygienist and worked in orthodontics as an office administrator and technician. Her goal was to have others be confident with a great smile.

Laura shared her devotion to her faith by being a Eucharistic Minister and Religious Education teacher at St. Catherine’s of Siena Church in Mendon, NY. She was later a member at St. John of Rochester church. She volunteered at Habitat for Humanity with Ed. She loved her gardens, golfing at Monroe Golf Club, playing bridge with her friends and spending time with her girls from work. She loved and treasured the friends she made throughout her life. She successfully fought and survived breast cancer.

Her husband Ed Paszkiewicz passed away in February this past year.

She is survived by her children Michael Edwin (Leah) and Mary Catherine. Her siblings, Rev. Gerald R. Mudd, OFM, Beverly A. (Kenneth) Ronald. Her brother, COL James V. Mudd (USA Ret) predeceased her in 2010. Her sister-in-law Toni Mudd Beljan, granddaughter Jessica Lannon, and many nieces and nephews who she cherished.

Laura was our family’s bright light. She was most joyful when helping and giving to others. In remembrance of Laura, please give to your favorite charity or to a breast cancer research or support organization.

Laura and Ed will be remembered together at a memorial to be announced at a later date.
