Kathleen Maloney

Kathleen (Ricotta) Maloney, 78, of Rochester, New York, passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2026.

Born on April 16, 1948, Kathie grew up in Geneseo, New York, before later making her home in Rochester. Affectionately known as "Kate the Great," she was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who brought immense warmth, humor, and joy to the lives of those around her. Kathie loved snow birding in Destin, Florida, which was her happy place.

She is survived by her daughters, Bridget (Mark Perryman) and Sheila (Sam) Marroquin. She was a fiercely proud grandmother to her two grandsons, Jamison and Taylor, who in her eyes could do no wrong.

She is also survived by her siblings, Frank (Colleen Donovan), Anne Jones (the late Barry), Barbara, and Susan (John Terranova), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Catherine Ricotta.

She leaves behind a legacy of love shared with her family, friends, and the communities she touched throughout her life. A celebration of Kathie's life will be announced by her family at a later date.
