Joy Suzanne O'Neill
Rochester, NY, November 22, 2025 – It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joy Suzanne O'Neill at the age of 55. Suzanne was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Nancy Bilyue; her dear sisters, Kay New and Vicky Watson; her cherished nephew, Mackenzie Hart; and her first and second husbands, Dennis Simmons and Michael O'Neill.
She is survived by her two devoted children: her son, Jakob (Samantha) Simmons, and her daughter, Amanda "Mandi" Simmons; her adored grandchildren, Tanner Simmons (Jakob) and Isabella "Izzy" D'ambra (Samantha); her two sisters, Tracy Hart and Lisa Hickman; ten nieces and nephews; and a multitude of other treasured friends and family members.
During her children's formative years, Suzanne dedicated herself as a stay-at-home mother. Subsequently, she served for many years as a medicab driver for Monroe County. Suzanne was an exceptional and loving mother and wife. She harbored a deep passion for travel, found tranquility at the beach, and expressed her artistic talents through painting and other creative pursuits. Renowned for her generous spirit, she was a guiding light, consistently striving to assist those in her community. She was a devout woman of God, actively participating in outreach programs with various churches throughout her life.
