Joe, 56 yrs old, passed away on November 4, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY with his wife Nicole (Nicky) beside him. Joseph (Joe) was born March 20, 1959 to Joseph (Big Joe) Measheaw and Barbara Perkins Measheaw. Joe was a 1987 graduate of Morristown Central School and North West Tech. David Thompson introduced Joe to his wife at a Morristown Central School dance in 1986. Joe Measheaw and Nicole Duford were married on June 6, 1992.
Joe was predeceased by his loving Measheaw and Perkins grandparents, brother-in-law Brian Duford, father-in-law Dennis Duford Senior, and his wife’s Duford and Demers grandparents. Also, son Steven and daughter Heather from miscarriages.
Joe is survived by his wife Nicole (Nicky) Measheaw; daughters: Victoria Measheaw (Al Prue) of Tampa, FL and Hailey Measheaw (Damian Couch) of Webster, NY; son and daughter-in-law Joseph Measheaw III (Joey) and Nina Measheaw of Ogdensburg, NY; grandchildren: Myles Measheaw, Aurora Measheaw, and Nova Prue; special brother-in-law who is like a brother Dennis Duford Jr; his loving parents Big Joe Measheaw and Barbara Measheaw; loving mother-in-law Gloria Duford; sisters: Darcy (Calvin), Michelle (John), Amanada (Jim); his dog Hagrid; special friends: John Hunter, David Thompson, Matt Flynn, Thomas (Joey) Brien, and Steve Monroe; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Joe in his early years worked as a farm hand on many farms in the area. After high school graduation, he worked at McLear’s Cottages, Compas in Ogdensburg, Losurdo Food in Heuvelton, Walmart in Ogdensburg, Amtromic in Ogdensburg, and Ansen in Ogdensburg. Joe was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 258 and board member of SLVSC. He loved hunting; fishing; spending time with family and friends; ringing the Salvation bell at Christmas time with his family; helping with Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for the Knights of Columbus and the Salvation Army; helping the SLVSC; loved taking pictures; playing video games; sharing pictures, videos, and stories; cooking, which he developed into an excellent cook; and playing and talking with his grandchildren. Joe’s family will hold a celebration of life; which, Nicky will announce once date and plans are finalized.
