John "Jack" Conroy

Jack Conroy (80) of N. Greece Rd Rochester, NY passed away on April 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Rochester on March 8, 1945, to John and Helen Conroy, Jack had a love for all things Rochester, and especially his favorite football team, the Buffalo Bills. After proudly serving in the United States Navy, Jack worked for Case Hoyt printing for 38 years, but his love of interacting with others led him to extend his working life with the Airport Marriott as a Bellman and van driver. Anyone who had the opportunity to meet or get to know Jack, would remember his kindness and genuine compassion for others. Jack's love for all people really shined through in his relationships he had with close personal friends and family. Anyone that knew him, could easily repeat many of his one-liners as he had many! Jack had a soft spot for all animals and on many given occasions could be spotted feeding a stray cat on the side of the road if he knew they were there. Over the years, Jack and his family had many cats, dogs, rabbits and especially horses. For years, Jack was the support crew and unofficial cameraman for the pony club with his daughters and many of their friends; Easily spotted with the "Channel 13" VHS camcorder on his shoulder! On any given Sunday in the fall, you would find Jack surrounded by family and friends in his garage to root on his beloved Buffalo Bills.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Colleen Conroy, his children Rick (Kathy) Conroy, Cory (Ryan) Taynton and Kristi (Malcolm) Hoff, sister, Judy Schurman, brothers-in law John Romansky (Bonnie), Michael Schreiner and 3 grandchildren that he completely adored, CJ, Dustin and Erica Conroy, along with his loving niece and nephews, Heidi Schurman, John, Mike and Todd Romansky.

Jack was predeceased by his parents, John and Helen Conroy, brother Kevin Conroy, brother-in-law Chuck Schurman, and sister in laws Patty Romansky and Laurie Schreiner.

In following Jack's love for animals, we ask that in lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the Verona Street animal shelter in his honor.

At the family's request, there will not be a formal service, however a celebration of life will be announced in the future.
