Joan Diane Bernhard

BRIGHTON - Joan Diane Bernhard 80. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with Dementia surrounded by the love that defined her life. At the center of Joan's life was her extraordinary marriage to her beloved husband of 38 years, John Bernhard. Daughters Cheryl (David) LaMendola, Karen Van and step sons Jason Bernhard and Jeffrey Bernhard, Six grands; Garnet (deceased), Ross, Alyssa, Luke, Livy, and Mike, One great grand daughter Lily, also four brothers Doug (Diane), David (Debbie), Donnie (Sandy), and Bobbie two sisters Hope (Deceased) and Jane (Doug). Joan worked for the Legal Aid Society for 24 years and retired. Joan's Life was one of Love, Faith, and devotion. She leaves behind a family who will carry her warmth and gentle spirit forward always. Joan shared a partnership with her husband defined by devotion, patience, and unwavering love that friends and family admired, and were inspired by. Their bond was a true example of commitment and care in to her final years John cared for her tenderly at home with the same love and dedication that had shaped their life together She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
