Listen to Obituary

Joan (Caramante) Bacchetta Rochester, NY- August 20th, 2025 at age 87.

Our beloved Joan has left this world, but her love, her stories, and her spirit will live on in each of us. Predeceased by her parents, Girolamo and Frances Caramante, brother Jerry Sr., nieces and nephew, Francine, Nannette, Jerry Jr., and Joanne (living), her beloved husbands Joe Conezio, Lou Bacchetta, & Charles Pullaro.

She was proudly Italian, and she carried her heritage in everything she did. She has many relatives in Italy whom she did not see often but loved and cared for them deeply. If you ever stepped into her home, chances are you’d hear one of her treasured Italian music tapes playing in the background while something delicious was bubbling away on the stove. Cooking was never just about food for her—it was about family, love, and bringing people together. Her kitchen table was the heart of the home, where laughter, stories, and countless memories were shared.

Joan had the kindest soul and the most generous heart. She would give the very shirt off her back to anyone in need without hesitation. Caring for others wasn’t just something she did—it was who she was. Her warmth reached everyone she met, whether family, friend, or stranger.

She also had a playful side that made life fun. She loved taking trips to the casino, and whether she was trying her luck at the slots or tables or simply enjoying the energy of the room, it brought her joy and a sparkle in her eye.

Beyond her home, Joan made a lasting mark on her community. As an owner of Delmar Salon for 31 years, she built not only a business but also a gathering place where friendships grew, and neighbors felt like family. Her dedication, kindness, and welcoming spirit touched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy of connection and care that extended far beyond her own front door to the salon.

Her greatest joys in life, though, were her faith and family. She was the devoted mother of Donny Beebe, Michael Beebe, and Gina (Beebe) Buonomo and the proud grandmother of Alex & Taylor Beebe, Samantha (Buonomo) Biernbrauer (Justin) & Justin Buonomo (Lauren). She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother, a role she cherished deeply. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her family, watching them grow, and knowing her love was woven into their lives.

She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, tradition, and unconditional love. Though we will miss her every day, we will carry her lessons, her recipes, her music, and her boundless love with us always.

Over the last 5 years, she was a resident of Monroe Community Hospital. We are thankful to the staff who took care of her over the years. We also owe a huge thank you to family friend/caregiver Sarah Montemaro.

Please join us in celebrating her life on September 5th, 10am at St. James, 130 Brett Rd, Rochester NY 14609. The mass will be followed by a burial at Holy Sepulchre. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Monroe Community Hospital.

Rest peacefully, dear Joan. You will forever be the heart of our family.
