Listen to Obituary

Jo-Ann Spring, a woman of remarkable warmth and gentle grace, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Jo-Ann made Rochester, New York her home for the greater part of her life — a community she embraced fully and who embraced her in return.
Jo-Ann was, above all else, a people person. Her door — and her heart — were always open. Whether she had known you for decades or had just met you, Jo-Ann had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Her kindness was not a fleeting gesture but a constant, enduring presence that shaped every relationship she touched. Those who were fortunate enough to know her carry with them the memory of her warm smile, her gentle spirit, and her genuine care for the people in her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Spring, and by her devoted mother and father.
Jo-Ann is survived by those who were the joy of her life: her son, David Spring, and his wife, Melissa Spring; and her cherished grandchildren, Taylor Spring and fiancé Tylor Albright, and Joshua Spring and wife Ke-Nya Spring. She also leaves behind a wide and loving circle of friends whose lives she enriched in ways too countless to name.

Jo-Ann’s passing leaves a tender ache in the hearts of all who knew her, and yet her memory will continue to shine — in the kindness of a stranger, in the laughter shared among family, in the quiet and steadfast love she gave so freely to the world. She was, in every sense of the word, one of the sweetest souls to grace this earth. She touched every heart that crossed her path.

Services will be held privately by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to any local hospice facility. The compassionate care and dedicated support provided by hospice during Jo-Ann’s final days were an immeasurable blessing, and the family is deeply grateful for the comfort and dignity they extended to her and to their entire family during such a tender time.
