James A. Stubbings, born on November 29, 1958, in Rochester, New York, passed away on December 27, 2025. He was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a man widely known for his generous spirit and kind heart. James worked tirelessly throughout his life and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, or anyone in need.
A loving and patient father, James raised four sons with humor, dedication, and unwavering love. He took pride in being present for his family and found joy in life’s simple pleasures—collecting coins, reading, and spending meaningful time with those he loved most.
James was predeceased by his parents, Raymond Stubbings Sr. and Ruth Barr; his son, David A. Stubbings; and his brother, Jeffrey A. Stubbings. his Stepfather Conrad L. Fair.
He is survived by his three sons: Jeff Wiltsie (Susan), James M. Stubbings (Carmen), and Roy E. Stubbings (Neri); his brothers Raymond Stubbings Jr., Francis Austin, Eric Austin, John Austin, Lyle Fair, Terry Stubbings, and Larry Stubbings; and his cherished grandchildren, Ariel and Natalia Stubbings. Dorothy Stubbings, Linda Fair, and Jodie (Fair) Roberts also held a special place in his heart.
James was always fixing, tinkering, or creating something—his hands were rarely still. He had a natural gift for making others laugh and smile, and his warmth, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
