James Leach (Jim), 78, took his wings to fly home with the love of his life Susan Rendsland on June 16, 2025. Jim was born October 15, 1947 to Gordon and Harriett Leach. He loved his sister Pat and nephew Gerry, along with 2 great-nephews (little Gerry and Christopher). Jim has a half brother Donnie, with several nieces and nephews.
Jim and Sue met in 1978 and they stayed together for 47 years. Together they raised, protected, and loved 4 daughters- Mary, Elizabeth, Theresa, Annie. He also stepped in to help raise and love 3 of his grandchildren- Devin, Tyla, and Amria. And Jim’s great granddaughter “little miss Diara” is the newest family member. Jim had 5 grandkids total including Hector and Victor.
Jim was a hard working family man that made sure his family had everything they needed. He put a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, food in our stomachs, and love in our hearts.
He was an outdoors man- enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jim was a good mechanic that knew how to fix the old cars. He knew how to make a good sandwich from working in a restaurant. He watched old western movies (John Wayne and Chuck Norris were his favorite). Jim had a collection of flannel shirts and wore them proudly.
Jim was a simple man that lived life on his own terms. He set the example of what it means to be a good person - teaching us humility, hard work, and standing tall with a soft heart. His love wasn’t flashy, but it was always there- strong, unconditional and unbreakable. Jim’s tender love, patience and integrity has left a legacy that will be carried on forever. He built the foundation of the family with his loving soul mate Sue. Together they weathered storms, grew stronger together, and created their family that they were so proud of and loved so deeply.
Jim and Sue loved together, stayed together, grew together, and have gone on to their next journey together. They have finally found peace and freedom. Although Jim’s soul is free from pain and is no longer suffering, he is deeply missed and forever loved.
