Listen to Obituary

James “Jim” T. DiPasquale, 72, of Rochester, N.Y., passed away July 30, 2025, at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center. He was born on October 16, 1952, in Rochester, N.Y., the son of the late Alexander and Harriett DiPasquale. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alexander and Nicholas DiPasquale. Jim is survived by his children, Benjamin DiPasquale and Danielle DiPasquale; his sister, Mary Ellen Colling and his brother-in-law, Craig, his grandson, Casen Vito, his close friends, Ila "Mae" Baliu, David Albert and Richard DeJoy; and many other relatives and friends who will forever carry his memory. Jim proudly served the City of Rochester as a police officer for 29 years, dedicating his career to helping others.Above all else, Jim was a devoted father who would travel the ends of the earth for his children. Everything he did was for his kids, every sacrifice, every sleepless night, every decision made with their future in mind.Jim faced many hardships throughout his life, especially in his later years, yet he never lost his humor, generosity, or instinct to care for others. His loyalty, morals, and love for his family defined him. To those who knew him, Jim was more than a father, brother, or friend, he was a rock, a source of laughter, and a reminder of what it meant to put others first. At Jim’s request, no formal service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center for compassion and care shown during his final days. In Jim’s memory, donations may be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, online at lifetimecare.org/donate or by sending checks made payable to Rochester Regional Health Foundation/Hildebrandt Hospice Center, 330 Monroe Avenue, Suite 400, Rochester, NY 14607.
