It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helene A. Herpich, who left this world on June 28, 2025, in her hometown of Rochester, where she was born on May 17, 1948. Helene, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, enriched the lives of everyone who had the joy of knowing her.
Helene was the cherished daughter of Theodore and Belle Arnold, both of whom preceded her in death. She carried their love and values throughout her life, becoming a pillar of strength for her own family. Helene is survived by her devoted daughters, Kimberly Herpich and Mitzi (Algernon) Pearson, who will forever hold her spirit in their hearts. She was also a proud grandmother to Trevor Coley, Daysean Smith, Azhanae Frazier and Jaheim Pearson and a great-grandmother to Treyvon, Taliyah, Kayjhoni, Davina, Jah'Loni & Jah'Syn. Each of them brought immeasurable joy to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her family.
Helene had a zest for life that was infectious. She was an avid photographer, capturing life's precious moments with her camera, and her sewing skills allowed her to create beautiful treasures shared with loved ones. Helene found happiness in the simple pleasures—sitting in the sun, listening to the soothing melodies of jazz music, and surrounding herself with family. Her love for celebrating every occasion was unmatched; she believed that every day was an opportunity to create lasting memories.
Known for her great sense of humor, Helene could light up any room with her laughter. She was a master of witty remarks and had a playful spirit that made her genuinely enjoyable to be around. Her friends and family fondly remember her desire to always have the last word in every debate, often leaving others in stitches with her quick comebacks. Helene made her presence felt, no matter where she was, and her joyous spirit will continue to resonate in the lives of those she touched.
As we mourn the loss of Helene, we also celebrate the vibrant life she led. A memorial service will be held in her honor, with a celebration of her life planned for a later date. In this way, we invite everyone whose life was enriched by Helene to come together in remembrance, sharing their stories, laughter, and love—just as she would have wanted.
Helene A. Herpich will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, laughter, and family will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty of the memories she created and the love she gave.
