Age 86 | Fairport, New York

E. William Metrose, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on December 4, 1938, in Hartford, Connecticut, Bill lived a life defined by dedication to family, hard work, and a deep love for building and the outdoors.

In 1988, Bill founded his homebuilding company and was later recognized as a Top 100 Homebuilder. Over the years, he became known for constructing homes with care, vision, and a commitment to quality. His work shaped not just neighborhoods but entire communities, leaving behind a legacy built on trust and craftsmanship.

Bill was an avid hunter who found joy and peace in nature. He was a loyal supporter of Roberts Wesleyan College and a passionate fan of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees - never missing a game, and never missing a chance to pick up your tab.

He shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Carol Metrose (née Crandall). Together, they raised two loving daughters, Tricia (Eric) Johnson and Tabitha (T.R.) Casamento, who carry forward his values of resilience, integrity, and love.

Bill was a proud grandfather to Evan (Kaitlyn) Casamento, Lillian Casamento, Lauren Casamento, Kendall Johnson, Donavan Johnson, and Callen Johnson, and a cherished great-grandfather to Alexander Casamento. His presence in their lives was a steady source of wisdom, warmth, and encouragement.

Bill will be remembered for his strength, humility, generosity, and the quiet way he made those around him feel cared for and supported. His life was a testament to the power of hard work, steady love, and community service.

A celebration of Bill's life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roberts Wesleyan College or to the Perinton Memorial Post 8495 - Veterans of Foreign Wars, two organizations close to Bill's heart.
