Diane Louise Schaefer

Diane Louise Schaefer (Timreck), born on February 11th, 1942, passed away peacefully on April 28th, 2025, with her husband, John, by her side after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Diane graduated from Our Lady of Mercy high school and continued on to St. Mary's School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse. She retired from Kirkhaven Nursing Home in 2008 after many years of dedicated service. Married to John for sixty years and a devoted mother to Karen and Christopher. Later on, a cherished grandmother of Hailey and Killian. Diane enjoyed her waterfront home in Scottsville, NY where she would often be found kayaking. She was an accomplished quilter and loved her two rescue Greyhounds. She was also an avid reader, a member of Jazzercise and enjoyed the mystery of TV crime shows. She is survived by her husband, John Schaefer, daughter Karen Otto (Bo), son Christopher Schaefer, sister Nancy Poshkus, and grandchildren Hailey and Killian Dainard. Diane was deeply loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed. Her celebration of life will be held at a later date.
