Dennis Gifford

Fairport, NY August 17, 2026 at age 84

Dennis is predeceased by his wife of 66 years Carolyn, his parents Donald and Thelma Gifford, his brother Donald Gifford, and his grandson Justin Dettman. He is survived by his sister In-Law Marilyn Gifford, children, Denise (Don) Dettman, John, and Dennis (Janet), along with 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dennis and his Carolyn were together for over 71 years. He graduated from RIT after many years while attending night school and working full-time and supporting his family. He worked at Eastman Kodak for over 25 years as a Facilities Mechanical Designer, designing HVAC and Fire Suppression systems. He was a DIY individual and passed his knowledge down to his children. He loved volunteering and was a coach and board member within the Fairport Baseball Little League, coached the Fairport Fireman, for 15 years and was an EMT for over 10 years at the Fairport Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was also a 3 year renal cancer survivor having 1 kidney removed. He deeply loved his family, dogs, the outdoors and baseball. He will be greatly missed by all.

A private dual family funeral service will held on September 25, 2026 for both Dennis and his wife Carolyn, as their ashes are combined as one for their final internment.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have donations be placed in Dennis's name to the Pluta Cancer Center in Rochester NY or a Tree in his Honor at Yellowstone National Park.
