Debra Louise Tallman, known to many as “Debbie,” passed away far too soon on September 14, 2025, at the age of 58. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Debbie was predeceased by her brother, Paul Sherlock, and her beloved Godmother, Susan Obermayer. She is survived by her parents, Arnold and Gail Sherlock, her children, Christine (Andrew) Powers, Joshua Tallman, and Jennifer (Rodney) Carmody, as well as her brothers, Arnie and Jeff Sherlock. She also leaves behind a large, loving family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and so many friends, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Debbie was a woman of many passions. She found great joy in spending time with her children, whether it was enjoying Sunday get-togethers, fishing, or simply being in nature. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her frequent visits to the local lakes, including Conesus and Canandaigua, her love of bird watching, and her treasured moments spent in Letchworth State Park. Debbie also had a deep appreciation for the arts, and she spent hours painting, crafting, and coloring, sharing her creativity with those around her.
Debbie was an extraordinary mother. Her love for her children knew no bounds, and she was always there for them. Debbie’s presence in their lives was a constant source of strength and comfort. She made sure her children felt loved and valued, instilling in them the same kindness, resilience, and compassion she embodied. Her greatest joy in life was watching her children grow, and she was immensely proud of the people they became.
Professionally, Debbie dedicated many years to serving others as a Neighborhood Assistant at the Livingston County Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. She took great pride in her work and developed deep bonds with the residents she cared for, always bringing compassion and dedication to her role.
Throughout her life, and especially in recent years, Debbie exhibited incredible strength. Despite the challenges she faced, Debbie fought with unwavering determination. She never lost her love for life, continuing to find joy in the little things, especially in the time spent with her children and family. Her courage and resilience will forever be remembered as a testament to her incredible spirit.
