Courtney "Corey" Haygood

Courtney Scott Haygood was born on July 30, 1970 in Rochester, New York and was peacefully called home on July 25, 2025, Rochester, New York. Courtney was a joyful and compassionate soul. Corey attended Jefferson High School, Rochester, New York, where he completed his Regents Diploma in June 1988. Corey achieved his Associates Degree in Occupational Studies, in the Business Management Program, in March 1992, at Bryant & Stratton Business Institute, Rochester, New York. Corey devoted the last 10 years of his life to Bausch & Lomb Eye Care Manufacturing as a Contact Lens Inspector. Corey loved the performing arts and dancing. Corey’s upbeat energy undoubtedly left an impression on everyone who had the pleasure of making his acquaintance. The loss of his love, compassion, charisma, empathy, and presence will be deeply missed.

Courtney “Corey” Haygood was preceded in death by his loving grandparents; Lewis Scott and Ethelette Jones-Scott, Monticello and Izella Haygood, his mother Gwendolyn Sharifah Scott-Turner, and brother James (Hakim) “Jimmy” Haygood Jr.

Corey leaves to mourn his passing; his loving father James Cornelius Haygood Sr. (Hazel), aunts; Cynthia Hill, Naomi Campbell and Patricia Evans, uncles; Jonathan Scott and John Haygood, his sister; Jyia Lindsey (Abdual), his brothers; Jason Haygood (Teyona) and Bruce Slade (Norma), and his devoted sister-cousin Unique Sullivan. And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
