Charlie C. Allen

Rochester, NY – October 1, 2025, at age 74.

Charlie C. Allen, known to many as Charles, lived a life marked by hard work and simple joys. He was born on February 24th, 1951 in Midway, Alabama to Annie Lee Spencer, who predeceased him. In time, he made Rochester, New York his permanent home where he built his life and began his family.

His proudest role was that of father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Charlene (Samuel) Wright. His legacy continues in his grandchildren Breona (David) Holmes, Samuel Wright IV, and Camille Wright as well as his great-grandchildren, Mia and Brielle Holmes. Charlie is also survived by his sisters, Vivian Ogden and Annette Allen, as well as three nieces, four nephews, and many lifelong family and friends who will hold his memory close. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dot Todd who dedicated care and support to Charlie in his final stages of life.

Charlie worked for many years at Penfield Landscape and Nursery, where he built a reputation for his dedication and hard work before retiring. Outside of his career, he enjoyed simple pleasures—fishing, cheering for the Buffalo Bills, and sharing food and laughter with family and friends.

Charlie will be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit, and his sense of humor that could always bring laughter to those around him. His presence made gatherings brighter, and his absence will be deeply felt.

A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held with immediate family and friends, where stories will be shared, memories honored, and his legacy carried forward with love.
