Charles H. French (Charlie). Born September 28, 1949 in Ilion, NY, Passed June 5, 2025, at age 75, Rochester, NY

He is survived by his children, Aimee (David) Shortino, Kristen (Bill) French-Burley, and Justin French; Grandchildren, Paul, Anthony, Nina and Gianna Shortino, Juliana and Kaylee Burley. Brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Gina French, and niece Courtney (Chris) Kendall. Predeceased by his parents, Betty and Curtis Vanderbilt of Ilion, NY, Donald (Marie) French, and infant sister, Cynthia.

Charlie was born and raised in Ilion, NY and moved to Rochester, NY after high school. He had a 30 year career as a Firefighter with the City of Rochester and appreciated the many years of camaraderie that he spent with the individuals on the job. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer, golf instructor, and enjoyed his trips to Del Lago casino. The family would like to express their gratitude to the office of Dr. Russell Maggio, and the following Senior Living facilities; Legacy at Clover Blossom, Legacy at Maiden Park, GrandeVille Senior Living, and The Brook at High Falls for the years of compassion and kindness that they showed towards him. We are all fairly certain there will not be another resident quite like him and may his "stories" live on to keep his memory alive.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family.
