Charles “Chuck” Douglas Wagner

November 5, 1957 – May 8, 2026Charles “Chuck” Douglas Wagner, 68, of Ontario, NY, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Rochester, NY, to the late Mary (Deans) Deao, Chuck was a man of quiet strength and humor. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon “Shari” (McCarter); his (step)daughter, Shaundra McCarter; and 2 grandsons, who were the joy of his life.

He also leaves behind his siblings, Dan (Shannon) Wagner, Fred (Dawn) Wagner, and Margaret (Lynn) Primmer, along with nieces, nephews, and a circle of extended family and friends.

A lifelong adventurer, Chuck’s earthly quests often took him into the heart of the Adirondacks for camping and hiking. However, his most enduring passion was the world of tabletop gaming. As a long-time Dungeons & Dragons player, he lived life rolling the dice and leveling up whenever he could.

For the past six years, Chuck faced his most difficult campaign yet - a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He fought with incredible resilience, never losing his spirit or his wit. In his final earthly session, Chuck rolled the ultimate Natural 20, achieving a critical success in a life well-lived and passing peacefully into his next great adventure.

The family will hold a bonus session to celebrate Chuck at a later date.
