Listen to Obituary

Carol Ann Kuck (Coon), a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and lifelong caregiver, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, with loved ones by her side. She was 74.

She is survived by her brother, Gary Coon; her daughters, Linda (Paul) Charles and Shari Fallon; her extended family, Krystal (Phil) Thorhauer; and her beloved grandchildren Alexandria, Nickolas, Mateus, Cealan, and Kaleb, as well as her great-grandchild, Adaline — all of whom thought the world of her.

Born on September 1, 1951, in Elmira, New York, Carol built a life defined by compassion, service, and an unwavering dedication to others. As a nurse, she cared for people across every stage of life — in hospital settings, nursing homes, family practices, schools, and in home care. No matter where she worked, she brought empathy, kindness, humor, and respect to every person she encountered. She truly loved what she did, and that love was reflected in the countless lives she touched.

Her kindness extended far beyond her profession. Everyone she met was greeted like family. Whether she was on a wine trip, enjoying a beach getaway, or simply grocery shopping, she left a lasting impression through her warmth and genuine care for others. Caring wasn’t just her career — it was her nature. Her legacy of service, compassion, and devotion will continue to shine in all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on July 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bru64 on Main Street in Cortland, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in her memory to the Renzi Cancer Center, whose kind and caring support brought hope and happiness, or to the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital, whose compassionate team provided comfort and dignity in her final days.
