Listen to Obituary

Rochester, NY January 15, 2026 at age 64.

Barbara is predeceased by her father Robert Bixby and mother Betty Fiordeliso, stepfather, Angelo Fiordeliso, brother John Schultz Bixby, Brother-in-law Ronald Helms, Uncles Donald Brant and Frank Zingo, Aunts Nancy Shultz, Judy Bixby, Linda Goodman and Nancy Goodman.

Barbara is survived by her brother Robert Bixby, Jr. and sisters Anita Helms and Janet Faticone, nephews Robert Bixby (Mercy), Nico Faticone, Guiseppe Faticone (Godson), Ronald Helms, Jr., and niece Megan Helms, great grandnephew Christian Helms and grandnieces Veronica Helms, Ava Bixby and Emma Bixby, Uncles Clarence (Junior) Schultz and Donald Bixby (Dawn), Aunts Grace Brant, Barbara Zingo (namesake), Anita Bixby Frank…, too many cousins to list all of them. This obituary would literally be a book if we listed all of her cousins and she loved each and every one of them.

Barbara loved her family so much. She was so excited for family gatherings and reunions. She loved holidays with family, especially her birthday and Christmas. Barbara took the loss of her younger brother Johnny and her parents very hard. She talked about them all the time. Barbara was the sweetest person you will ever meet. Always happy and friendly to everyone, sometimes to a fault. Barbara would go without to provide what she had to other people that asked her for something or give it away if she saw or knew someone who she thought needed it more than she did. Barbara was a hairdresser and when she was young, she would go to the older people in the neighborhood that she was friends with (she was friends with everyone) and do their hair in their home so they did not have to go out.

Barbara worked at several hair salons until she could no longer work due to her disabilities. A special thank you to Avery Bartell who would take Barbara items from her family every week. Barbara would call several times a week asking what day Avery was coming to see her. Avery would also provide transportation to Barbara when her family was not able to. Barbara loved Avery and was always so happy to see her. Avery was always very kind to Barbara.

There will be a church service for Barbara at the Webster Methodist Church located at 169 East Main Street in the Town of Webster on February 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Immediately following the church service, there will be a Celebration of Barbara’s Life at the Webster Arboretum located at 1700 Schlegel Road in the Town of Webster. A private burial will be at a later date due to inclement weather. Barbara will be buried alongside her parents and brother at the Maplewood Cemetery in the Town of Henrietta.
